Recently we as a CU had our first Weekend Away of this academic year and boy was it a humdinger!
It was a true joy getting to know the new names and faces and, of course, spending time with the big G himself – without the usual stresses of the day to day. It was a truly refreshing time both spiritually and snack-wise.
We were blessed to have such a fantastic (not forgetting generally cool) speaker – Andrew Holt.
What’s more is that he’ll be gracing us with his presence once again for Mission/Events Week which will be happening early February 2011 (more details to follow soon).

The UWECU Committee (plus a few others from the CU) have recently come back from attending Forum (UCCF-based event). It was a great time spent learning about God, ourselves and other CUs from around the UK. We commingled with Bristol CU which meant we were lucky enough to be cooked for all week and of course meet them and their CU Exec/members.
Highlights of the week include such things as, in no particular order, meeting new people/other CUs, Ultimate Frisbee and Rounders, seminars (including one from Francis Chan!), two days of wonderful sunshine (the other days had fairly dire weather) and after hours gigs to name but a few.
We’ve come back now more passionate than ever and we hope this will come across in Freshers Week and beyond!
